We cannot afford to fail as democracy but we can as humanity. Why not capital punishment for certain criminals?

Can anybody tell what happened to those 40 masked goons with rods who took JNU at their helm one night? Its like they've been forgotten.
They did it in the one of the finest educational insititution of our country. Where have we come as a democracy? We are unofficially no more a democracy.

No Action Taken!

It has been more than 6 months now. Kashmir is 'normal'.&nbsp;
To see your streets filled with troops, shops shut, markets closed, no internet, and presidential rule with all the restrictions, no media coverage, section 144, etc. every day; for six months! No one has heard of you and you haven't heard of anyone either. What happens to you will never gain attention. Your leaders detained. No international agencies, the so-called human rights protectors and your country-people who wanted you to remain integrated with them and always proclaimed that you were their's; every one of them has turned blind. And AFSPA is such a normal thing. Why don't they applicate it in every state? I mean who doesn't love our brave soldiers?&nbsp;
Kashmir is so normal. I mean our PM hasn't felt the need to even go there, that level of normalcy. Wish I was in Kashmir.

Is suppression another term for normalcy now?

This year's January received the tag of hottest January on Earth since recorded history. It exceeded the average temperature of Earth in January by 1.14 degree celsius.
Not only this, this record of the hottest january has been renewing consecutively since 2016. And that invites our concern.
Earth is getting warmer. Glaciers are going down at an alarming rate. Where are we headed towards as a civilization? When will we be more concerned about the environment, the earth and finally us rather than national boundaries, religious differences, racism and other pity matters?

Winter is Hot

Should reservation still exist? How much more time do we need to finish this imbalance in our society? We are about to reach the centernary anniversary of our Independence in two and half decades. Would reservation have become a past till then?

Also reservation exists in different forms. Caste, Religion, Gender, Economical (Economic Weaker Sections) and Physically disabled.&nbsp;
On Physical level I believe we should keep that forever.

Economical: We are a poor nation. That's a one line answer.

Gender: We are a poor nation with Hindus and Muslims. That's another one line answer. Here Women and the third gender have always been suppressed. And it is now that they are slowly finding their way out in open.

Caste based: That's debatable. Although the caste mentality is still very strong among Indians. But it is uncertain if that mentality will ever die. And then every there is community asking for reservations for their caste.

Religion: There are reservations for Muslims. I don't understand why now that EWS is also there.

The Covid-19 (Coronavirus), started in Wuhan, China has now crossed the borders; American, European and Asian countries.

Today Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan presented the official count of 28 people who have been found infected with the virus. Just 40 mins before when I am writing this, it has been reported that 36 people have been tested positive in Hyderbad. There have been other cases reported in other parts of the country too.&nbsp;

Are we prepared for this?&nbsp;

India is already infamous for it's huge population, over-burdened healthcare system which is in itself inefficient and the kind of governments which don't take care and responsibility of their citizen's health. If that's a false claim then below are the examples.

Children dyeing in Rajasthan and Bihar's Acute Encephalitis are the latest example of our government's responsible behavior.

The thing is India is a poor country. We have population density of a mind boggling 420 people per square kilometer. Also there is internal migration everyday in huge numbers. (Indian railways alone carry 23 million passengers everyday, that's like the entire population of Austrailia)

Some experts say that India maynot be a favourable place for the virus, given the hot and humid climate. FYI Coronavirus turns inactive at 38 degree celsius and dies at 50 degrees celsius.

And better if it doesn't find the atmosphere hospitable here. But what is concerning is the present situation and these upcoming 30 days after which we officially welcome summers.

Other than China, we are the only 1 billion + people nation&nbsp;
In China the virus did not spread to every province...even if it did...the numbers did not cross 1000 mark...now its debatable whether those numbers are true ....but then actually it can be concluded that the virus did not cover pan-China...

Now in US, European Countries and other countries, the virus did cover their major regions and hence affected large populations...and the results are in front of us...2 lakh deaths...

Talking of india, the other 1 billion people country, the situation is similar to that of US, European and other Countries...which is that virus has mapped the whole of country...it has entered every state and the numbers are on rise...
I believe we are about to witness the worst catastrophe of the recent history...
I wish somehow it could be stopped ...

Pan-india-mic

The government is facilitating migrant labours and students in sending them back to their homes...
But then question arises what if these movements will make the situation worse as most likely, among these people will also be carriers of the contagious virus...nobody could deny that...screening is useless in frront of asymtomatic cases...plus about the 14 days home quarantine guideline? Do we really believe that these people will do that? This can turn into catastrophic..

The gov is compelled to do so because of the protests and complaints...in that case it hasn't got any other option either...

But could their have been a better way to deal with this? ...
