Journalism has been reduced to a propoganda machinery, be it propoganda for the govt or against the govt.

in 2018 , a decisive decison was taken by Smriti Irani who was the then Information and broadcasting minister regarding the improvement of media by cancelling the license of a reporter if he/she reports an amount of fake news but the very next day the prime minister intervened and over ruled it. and in the last 2 years we can witness the amount of fake news being reported and the PTI being helpless .

That's true and being the biggest democracy in the world we deserve a platform like policharcha where we can express ourselves instead of listening to all the nonsense on so called debates which are basically shouting matches or watching sensationalized and overhyped news specials. Biggest news channels are fabricating facts and giving out incorrect information to manipulate and brainwash people.

Propaganda for the govt is the more dangerous one here. If the propaganda is against the govt then it (govt) has still got all the resources to be able to convey its true message to the people. But if the propaganda is for the govt then there is no way people would ever get the true information. Being biased might be tolerable. That is our nature. But distributing untrue/fake or fabricated information is not good. Journalism of whatever kind should never be tilted towards the rulers/government.

Journalism is now biased today. Media is as called the fourth pillar of democracy but in the current scenario, I think it's not playing the role assigned to them( providing apt news to common people).

that's true ...but very unfortunate. A platform like Policharcha was need of the hour. let's hope to see the rational face of journalism.

I agree. It's like if you are in the mainstream media, you can't really stay nuetral. You must choose a side

Journalism today only reflects what we want to see, if you look at the most popular news channels, you will be able to figure out that. People are only looking for news that are potrayed in a spicy way
