Where would privatization lead us to?
Modi government is selling Air India, LIC, BPCL, CCI, THDC India, NEEPCO, Shipping Corporation of India and many others could be in the queue. BSNL is dying a slow death. Where are we heading towards?
In a poor nation like India, where responsible service providers are needed, why are we running after profit makers?
all this being a mere reason as to why we have inequality at the income level. Privatization in nuclear sector was also thought of. if all this happens then it will lead to disaster and who knows may be we will head back to the east india era.

I am kidding...but this fear was the reason we weren't open to the world till 1991.
People give reason that privatization will lead to better facilites/services and the market competition will make these services cheaper....but ultimately would these profit makers be thinking about the public or their profit?
If we give away our organisations like that, then the control would be gone and we cannot expect these profit makers to bear losses while serving our general public (that is 60% poor, close to a billion) somthing which the government owned institutions usually have been doing all these years.
